Description
The Huntsville artists were up and ready to paint so I went back to camp and grabbed a couple of more canvases. They were staying until Saturday. I gave them a list of the best places to paint at least from my perspective. The weather was due to improve. It was like winter at Superior East but that did not totally stop the black flies. This was the very middle of bug season so I guess the cold was a good thing. The plein air painting might have been a challenge if the bugs had been out in full force. There is a reason why the Group of Seven conducted there Algoma Box Car Trips in the autumn.
I decided to paint looking northwest to the headlands that housed the Agawa Rock Pictographs. This time I did not include the characteristic islands that were just west of Agawa Rock. The leading lines in the wet and dry sand and the colours of the sky caught my eye. The colour of sand varies greatly depending on moisture content and lighting. Streets of turbulent stratocumulus still covered the sky. The sun peaked through between the cloud streets every now and again and the solar radiation felt wonderful. The waves were crashing on Agawa Beach. We were all alone and the campground was virtually empty except for us artists.
I was picking up camp that day and expected to be home sometime on Wednesday. I would just poke along with no schedule and listen to my music in my 2004 Paint Mobile. Life is good.
