Description
The Christmas weather had been turned topsy turvy. Singleton Lake was in the warm sector of a very large low pressure area. Brisk and gusty southwesterly winds had pumped the temperatures up into the mid and high teens on Christmas eve. The water was churned up as well. The clouds and the water looked more like September than Christmas. Keith even went swimming! We played soccer on the front yard with all of the grand kids. It was like summer.
Cold air and winter would arrive overnight just in time for Christmas Day. There was a lot of freezing rain and it was good that we did not have to travel.
As with most of my skyscapes, there are deliberate shapes in the clouds. There are also accidental but interesting shapes manufactured by the meteorology as well. Do you see the red-winged blackbird? The red wing is a sure sign of spring. There is also a sunfish. We need to play more attention to the clouds.
