Description
Why did the plein air artist cross the road? After completing #1961 "Dumoine Grande Chute" I simply went to the north side of the bridge to paint the inflow to the Grande Chute from around the eastern flank of the upstream island. The large and rocky island at the top of the rapids divided the water that created the Grande Chute into two distinct branches. This was the eastern inflow and the water crossed a large granite ledge in order to enter the rapids.
I forgot to scratch my signature into the oil paint after completing this painting en plein air. I must have been very embroiled in the moment.
