Description
Why did the plein air artist travel down the road? Go west young man - go west. After completing #1962 "Grande Chute Ledge" I simply strolled west to the other end of the bridge to paint the western inflow to the Grande Chute. A large and very rocky island at the top of the rapids divided the water that created the Grande Chute into two distinct branches. This was the western inflow and the water crossed a broader granite ledge in order to enter the rapids. It is very important to actually take this portage. The waters of the Grande Chute would be life threatening to say the least. The First CPAWS Art Camp was a lot of fun. The weather provided an interesting backdrop.
The skies were dark with rain and some embedded thunderstorms as well. It rained on me and the canvas but I was persevered.
