Painting - Oil On Panel
Description
This is Gull Rock from the other side looking westward toward the Singleton Lake Family Campground. So I have seen the rock from both sides now. The rock is actually marble but most people take it for granite. This is indeed a boulder in the water and not a cloud in the sky. The gulls and great blue herons like to lounge on this hunk of marble. The rock is white washed and some of the paint was really runny as it dripped a lot leaving a long white trail.
The other painting is number 1407 "Gull Rock" and it too was only 5x7 in size on a slippery panel surface. The laid the paint on heavy with single strokes.
