Artist's Description
After completing #2481 "Singleton Shagbark Hickory Point". I moved my easel a short way further toward west and looked northward more along the top of the marble ridge. The shadows of the trees sundialed across my canvas as I painted and I sometimes had to move the easel in order to see the colours better. The shadows from the brilliant sunshine told me that the morning was passing quickly. I was so absorbed in the process of interpreting the beauty in front of me while surrounded by nature, that the hours and minutes meant nothing to me as they passed. The skies had cleared as the high pressure centre moved in. It was a beautiful day and the sounds of nature spoke of spring.
About Phil Chadwick
I paint outside - nothing between my eyes and the inspiration. That special connectivity gets into the pigments and you quickly realize that we are all stewards of the land, privileged to appreciate its beauty during our lifetime but responsible for leaving the environment better off for the future and all inhabitants... Phil was born and raised along the St. Lawrence of Ontario, Canada and studied at Queens University as a nuclear physicist. A meteorologist for Environment Canada for 35 years, Phil specializes in severe weather and training. Remote sensing is his forte - you might want to see a tornado before you die... but not just before you die! He has farmed, raised bees, written books and articles, lectured and instructed...

Luscious colors and wonderful pattern of the shadows and textures...really cool and amazing contrast of red/sienna and the pops of lavender. This one has great rhythm and movement...such quiet beauty you have captured, Phil Chadwick. Love it! L/F/Pinterest

It was a special morning in late winter but it felt like spring. All of that snow would be gone just a few days later. Thank you Sunny!
