Description
The sunset was spectacular! I deliberated whether I had time to capture it but decided to give my new LED headlamp a try. It was 5 o’clock and almost dark when I got out to the back hill. I stood looking west and wanted to lay in the colours before they changed anymore. The headlamp was fantastic! It was 6 o’clock when I headed inside. The scene was just how it looked without all the detail. I hope that the honesty of the colours and basic shapes counterbalances the lack of care with the brush strokes. This first nocturne was lots of fun. It is something I will do much more of!
The clouds are on the southwest flank of the “Prairie Schooner” which took a path much further to the north than normal. As a result the clouds are quite stretched out by deformation processes.
The full moon was rising to the east and it wasn’t cold at all. It was a beautiful evening! The only other lights are from the new houses in Caledon. There are fewer such lights in King Township.
