Description
Around 1:30 pm I headed out on the back hill again. The temperatures were close to 12 Celsius and the winter day was just too mild to miss. The computer was active with my visual basic code so there wasn’t much else I could do until it was done. There was still no frost in the ground and I was able to poke my brushes into the soil to keep them handy while I painted.
The winds at the level of the stratocumulus were brisk out of the southwest while the winds at ground level were calm. The atmosphere was stable in the low levels and only unstable aloft. The air mass was saturated from all the rain so any lift would be enough to produce the stratocumulus. The see through forest off to the northwest always interested me. There are lots of holes through the forest so it is more of a wind break line of trees in single file than a forest. I had fun matching the colours. The final painting matched what I saw. I was in no rush as the conditions were close to ideal. There were also no biting bugs!
