A beautiful stampede of color and brushwork Phil.. The mint green gains a noticeable foothold as it races towards the pumpkin hill and soft cool sky!

Just spent half an hour writing a comment. Why did it eat it? Growl....This is def. one of your more accomplished pieces, Phil. The colors are delightfully, and I'm sure realistically, blended so that it conveys the genuine pleasure of a good eye and nature meeting. How you stand out in all that cold and manage this I will never understand. The finished work is another story, and this one tells its' tale beautifully! Thank you for sharing. I hope my ramble about 'copse' shows up. You are wise to keep using the word. They certainly do in England.

Phil Chadwick replied:

Howdy Cuz :>)) Yes it was 18 Celsius so for a spring day, that is like summer. The grass was growing... all was well with the world. I did see the story about the word "copse"... very informative and I enjoyed reading it Kate! Yes, I feel this is one of my better works but I can't explain how or why it happened. It is a favourite place for sure. I think that luck has something to do with it. I painted today as well... a series of 34 paintings from Canoe Lake where Tom Thomson hung out. I found it very inspiring. They are studio pieces as I was canoeing at the time and didn't have my painting gear. Thank you for you ongoing support Kate!
