Artist's Description

Water was slowly draining down off the rocky ridge. The moisture was staining patches of marble much darker than the dry rock. This would have been a favourite Singleton Lake campsite. I have a campsite all picked out if I were ever to get tired of living in the ICF home on the third point downstream from this. There are ancient cedars on this point that probably go back a lot longer than anyone would ever guess. There is scant soil and it is a wonder that any trees survive on the windward slope. The soil is much deeper at the crest and in the lee of the ridge. Oaks, maples, hickories and birch thrive just over the brow of the hill.

This stretched canvas was still rather slippery so I used a lot of paint. Linda keeps suggesting that I sell my art by the pound. This would be an expensive piece of art...
