Description
It was raining on Wednesday morning. The plein air group was supposed to go to George Lake, Killarney Provincial Park for an all day outing but the rain at times heavy kept them in. I parked the Subaru at the "Second Beach" on George Lake. I completed most of this from the passenger side of the car because it really did rain hard. Toward the end, I took the painting outside but I did so too early. I turned my back and the wind blew my easel into the sand and gravel. This added much needed texture to the brush strokes. In any event, the rain had tapered to drizzle and I was able to finish up the work on the beach.
The trails were much too wet and dangerous to travel so I stayed on the beach. I saw a lady with a large rectangular bandage on her forehead. It certainly wasn't a "stop smoking" patch! She must have taken a nasty tumble on some wet rocks. A few very wet canoeists paddled back to the First Beach while I was doing this painting. The weather was going to clear but they didn't want to wait! I met "Kirby" the photographer again and he took my picture while I painted. I also met him while working on 0843 "Chickanishing Creek Meets Georgian Bay".
With the addition of one more letter... this could be the west wind..
