Artist's Description
We hiked to the real Mackenzie Mountain which is west of the 12th Concession of King Township. There was a tremendous amount of wildlife around the mountain. Coyote, deer, raccoon and possum tracks were everywhere. We punched through the middle of the swamp on the way to the mountain but found the path for the way back. The deer preferred the path as well.
This is a view of cirrus cloud being stretched toward the southeast by a strong winter jet stream. The cirrus is on the warm side of the jet stream which exists because of the contrast between the warm southern latitudes and the cold poles. The jet stream is rounding the top of the upper ridge and streaks of cirrus are stretched downstream over the top of this ridge. This is also the confluent asymptote of the deformation zone associated with the developing low pressure area on the western side of the ridge. There is a winter storm of some sort on the way.
