Artist's Description
A group of artists from the Rideau Lakes Artist Association got together to paint on Little Rideau Lake. The weather was terrific.
This view is looking northwest from the shoreline across Little Rideau Lake toward the village of Westport. Light southwesterly winds shaped the cumulus clouds into disjointed streets. The clouds occasionally cast shadows on the distant shoreline.
About Phil Chadwick
I paint outside - nothing between my eyes and the inspiration. That special connectivity gets into the pigments and you quickly realize that we are all stewards of the land, privileged to appreciate its beauty during our lifetime but responsible for leaving the environment better off for the future and all inhabitants... Phil was born and raised along the St. Lawrence of Ontario, Canada and studied at Queens University as a nuclear physicist. A meteorologist for Environment Canada for 35 years, Phil specializes in severe weather and training. Remote sensing is his forte - you might want to see a tornado before you die... but not just before you die! He has farmed, raised bees, written books and articles, lectured and instructed...

“Passion is one great force that unleashes creativity, because if you’re passionate about something, then you’re more willing to take risks.” 💖 Congratulations on your recent sale of this amazing Work!💖
Phil Chadwick replied:
Your words are very wise and thoughtful. I called my first website the "Passion of Phil the Forecaster" with thoughts like yours in the mix. Life and creation thrive on passion. Thank you so very much. I have been away painting :>))

Phil, your work has a Neurographic Art underpinning that is truly magnificent! Now following!
Phil Chadwick replied:
You are so very kind Laurel. Thank you. Your reference encouraged me to investigate Neurographic Art. Only two rules for Neurographic lines: 1. They are conscious in thought and do not follow a repeated pattern/design . 2. They should begin and end on an edge of the paper. I do think carefully about my brush strokes and use them ti guide the eye of the viewer. I did not realize I was Neurographic:>)) Thank you :>))

I had a group of 10 or so people watching what I was doing. I was attempting to describe what I was doing and why... as if art is supposed to make sense. A friend of mine once described art a s a branch of chaos theory :>))
