Artist's Description
I had some time to paint after doing the chores at Watershed Farm. The horses and cows were fed and watered. The horses get some sweet grain horsey candy. The honey bees were starting to fly in the spring air. I wanted some more practice for the upcoming "Artist-in-Residence" assignment at the Southampton School of Art on the shores of Lake Huron. Chantry Light was the obvious subject and this is what resulted. It was fun. I am looking forward to actually staying there and painting on location. I am ready.
About Phil Chadwick
I paint outside - nothing between my eyes and the inspiration. That special connectivity gets into the pigments and you quickly realize that we are all stewards of the land, privileged to appreciate its beauty during our lifetime but responsible for leaving the environment better off for the future and all inhabitants... Phil was born and raised along the St. Lawrence of Ontario, Canada and studied at Queens University as a nuclear physicist. A meteorologist for Environment Canada for 35 years, Phil specializes in severe weather and training. Remote sensing is his forte - you might want to see a tornado before you die... but not just before you die! He has farmed, raised bees, written books and articles, lectured and instructed...

Amazing color, light, reflections, and brushwork...so beautiful and peaceful! l/f
Phil Chadwick replied:
You touched on something Sunny. I find lighthouses inspirational maybe because of their functional yet peaceful beauty. I plan to paint some more beacons of hope soon.
