Our spiral notebooks are 6" x 8" in size and include 120 pages which are lined on both sides. The artwork is printed on the front cover which is made of thick paper stock, and the back cover is medium gray in color. The inside of the back cover includes a pocket for storing extra paper and pens.

A.Y. Jackson was on his way to Trout Lake on September 2nd, 1931 and en route he spoke to the area superintendent of the Spanish River Lumber Company. The superintendent informed A.Y or "Hay Wire" as he called him, that the company was about to log the area around Baie Fine. After some letter writing, "Hay Wire" managed to get the logging stopped and the Spanish River Lumber Company was given other logging areas. In 1972 in honour of his 90th birthday and his conservation efforts, the subject of this painting was named after "Hay Wire". This is from the book "Geology and Scenery, Killarney Provincial Park Area Ontario".
I hiked in on Thursday morning and set-up on a large granite boulder sloping into the still waters. All I heard were the cries of ravens and my own echoes. A few groups of hikers walked by and one group took my picture. It was a very idyllic morning!
