This is number forty-four of forty-six in the Canoe Lake Paddle as numbered along the path of the paddle. This is looking southward toward Cook Island with the mainland and eastern shore of Canoe Lake on the left. Cook Island is to the right.

This was the mid afternoon sky on Canoe Lake. The cold low was still spinning to the west but the next surge of precipitation was almost upon me. The whiter shades of grey were actually the shafts of precipitation. They don't teach that in "meteorological school". The water droplets are much larger than the cloud droplets and were very efficient scatterers of all wavelengths of light in all directions through Mie scattering. I saw this coming but the heavier rain was still further to the south. I wasn't going to mind getting a bit wet. The rain never bothered me anyway. I actually own several umbrellas but never use them.
