Product Details

Our luxuriously soft beach towels are made from brushed microfiber with a 100% cotton back for extra absorption.   The top of the towel has the image printed on it, and the back is white cotton.   Our beach towels are available in two different sizes: beach towel (32" x 64") and beach sheet (37" x 74").

Don't let the fancy name confuse you... a beach sheet is just a large beach towel.

Artist's Description

Some of the CPAWS artists returned back to the eastern end of the bridge that crossed Grande Chute. I had the paint-mobile so was able to transport more than just myself. This time I could see the characteristic rocks on the west face of the channel that mark the Ravine. The swimming pool was hidden and around the corner. The Ravine is my new favourite swimming hole complete with current and a fun back eddy.

The mist in the air was the result of the spray from the Grande Chute but also the overnight rain. The colours of the distant forest were muted by the mist. I wanted to capture the rhythm in the rapids and continue that into the forest. August 5th was Tom Thomson's birthday and I hope that he would be pleased with these efforts.

The 1801 map of Alexander Mackenzie shows the layout of the Dumoine River. It was named after the trading post built at the river's mouth towards the end of French rule. This outpost was apparently managed by the French family of Le Moyn...

I paint outside - nothing between my eyes and the inspiration. That special connectivity gets into the pigments and you quickly realize that we are all stewards of the land, privileged to appreciate its beauty during our lifetime but responsible for leaving the environment better off for the future and all inhabitants... A meteorologist for Environment Canada for 35 years, Phil specializes in severe weather and training.
