Artist's Description
This was the third day of the First Westport Plein Air Painting Festival.
The Harbour Master and a very good friend commented that someone who invented a way to keep gulls from messing up a dock could make a fortune. He was probably right. There were at least fifty gulls that would fly gleefully away if someone walked down the dock to shoo them away. Fifty-one gulls would return as soon as the perceived menace had left. These gulls are not really the subject of the painting even though they are most indeed, the subject of the title.
