This is the long-deserted farmhouse on the King-Caledon Town line just north of the 19th Sideroad of King Township. It is at the very crest of the Oak Ridges Moraine. The only thing is that I forgot my easel so I painted using the lid of the art box and sat on the ground.

Sitting on the ground was OK until I lost the feeling in my legs. About that time, a couple of turkey vultures circled several times low over my head. I guess I was being really still. The perched in a tree overlooking the farm and kept a close eye on me. A sharp-shinned hawk also landed in the trees just north of the farmhouse. This view is looking toward the west.
It would have been a magnificent home in it's time. It certainly is a great location.

I paint outside - nothing between my eyes and the inspiration.
