ASK (Arts Society King) and the ASK Festival King "asked" me to demonstrate my art in order to stimulate participation in the "Discover the Creative You" portion of the festival. I was asked to set up beside the sign-up booth which I did. Then I started to paint. The turn out was not large but a few people did show. I started painting around 11 am and with the ongoing conversation and other things happening, I didn't finish up until around 2:30 pm. The event was over by 3:00 pm so I was done on time.
It was very hot and humid with the temperatures above 31 Celsius. The paint got sticky very quickly. The scene is looking southward along Main Street and is rather "plain" in composition but it tells the way the street really was. The title is a bit of a pun which I found to be fun. I typically think of the title some where during the process and this was no exception.
I paint outside - nothing between my eyes and the inspiration. That special connectivity gets into the pigments and you quickly realize that we are all stewards of the land, privileged to appreciate its beauty during our lifetime but responsible for leaving the environment better off for the future and all inhabitants...
