A Hillman

A Hillman

Another masterpiece and oh, how dramatic and stunningly beautiful...beyond beautiful! Amazing, Phil Chadwick! l/f

Phil Chadwick replied:

Thank you so much Sunny. Sometimes I think I am painting the energy in the atmosphere by using the bold and long brush strokes. I try the same approach in trying to capture the life force in the current series of florals. Your support helps to keep me going. :>)))

Artist's Description

The cold and unstable air mass was producing very vigourous snow flurries. This particular towering cumulus was tilted over with the northwesterly winds. The banded structure of the backlit cumulus tower caught my eye along with the shaft of heavy snow reaching the ground. The snow even accumulated at least 2 centimetres.

The ice was still hanging in the western basin of Singleton Lake.

About Phil Chadwick

Phil Chadwick

I paint outside - nothing between my eyes and the inspiration. That special connectivity gets into the pigments and you quickly realize that we are all stewards of the land, privileged to appreciate its beauty during our lifetime but responsible for leaving the environment better off for the future and all inhabitants... Phil was born and raised along the St. Lawrence of Ontario, Canada and studied at Queens University as a nuclear physicist. A meteorologist for Environment Canada for 35 years, Phil specializes in severe weather and training. Remote sensing is his forte - you might want to see a tornado before you die... but not just before you die! He has farmed, raised bees, written books and articles, lectured and instructed...
