Artist's Description
This was the morning demo on the first day of the Rideau Lakes Artist Association Plein Air Painting Workshop.
Apparently the dentist who owns this boat house, spent his honeymoon there in the loft. I think it would be better than any all inclusive resort in Jamaica or somewhere else where the water is green. There were a ton of different shades of green in this scene and I was faithful to them all. The water and colours were dancing with the fresh breeze. It was fun.
I had painted this scene earlier in 2015 in number 1599 Westport Boathouse.
About Phil Chadwick
I paint outside - nothing between my eyes and the inspiration. That special connectivity gets into the pigments and you quickly realize that we are all stewards of the land, privileged to appreciate its beauty during our lifetime but responsible for leaving the environment better off for the future and all inhabitants... A meteorologist for Environment Canada for 35 years, Phil specializes in severe weather and training. Remote sensing is his forte - you might want to see a tornado before you die... but not just before you die! He has farmed, raised bees, written books and articles, lectured and instructed...
