Artist's Description
This was the sixth Southampton demonstration piece for day three of Wind Waves and Weather. We set up at the mouth of the Saugeen River. There are facilities nearby and that make this location convenient for a large group of artist.
We had to wait until the warm frontal rain band passed to the east. I filled the time at the Community Hall with some of my Tom Thomson presentation. The rain was over by 10:30 am and we were able to paint outside. This is the view looking westward down the Saugeen River. It was really windy and no boats ventured out into the gale. We remained in the shelter of the hillside immediately to our south.
