Artist's Description

I was painting away on #1808 "That'll Do" when this very interesting sailing boat charged out of the channel between Portsmouth Harbour and Wolfe Island. I had to take a few pictures thinking ahead to some rainy day when I would need some material. That rainy and windy day arrived on Tuesday March 7th, 2017. There were a few people enjoying the windy ride i September, a couple at the back navigating the boat and a couple hanging from the rigging. They looked to be having a lot of fun on a blustery day.

This painting is all about the energy in the wind. The movement of the atmosphere results from the differential heating of the globe so in fact, wind energy is another derivative from solar energy. The wind generators on Wolfe Island do supply a lot of energy from a windy location but they certainly have negative impacts on the nature and the scenic beauty.
