Our greeting cards are 5" x 7" in size and are produced on digital offset printers using 100 lb. paper stock. Each card is coated with a UV protectant on the outside surface which produces a semi-gloss finish. The inside of each card has a matte white finish and can be customized with your own message up to 500 characters in length. Each card comes with a white envelope for mailing or gift giving.

These are the pines on Flossie Island - just one of the thirty thousand or so islands that help to make the Parry Sound area so very special. There are reputed to be more than 30,000 islands and maybe that is correct. I never counted them. These islands along the eastern Georgian Bay coast are the largest freshwater archipelago in the world and a designated World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. Having the name painted in large white letters on the rocky point was a clear indication of just which island among the thirty thousand I was painting.
The prevailing wind direction is easily detected by a just a quick glance at the flagged pines on good, old Flossie. The persistent onshore winds are sometimes hurricane force. The trees learn to bend rather than break. There was a deck of low turbulent stratocumulus well to the east over the mainland. Heating over the land was important to get this cloud going as it was clear over Georgian Bay.
This is based on a smaller canvas...
I paint outside - nothing between my eyes and the inspiration. That special connectivity gets into the pigments and you quickly realize that we are all stewards of the land, privileged to appreciate its beauty during our lifetime but responsible for leaving the environment better off for the future and all inhabitants... Phil was born and raised along the St. Lawrence of Ontario, Canada and studied at Queens University as a nuclear physicist. A meteorologist for Environment Canada for 35 years, Phil specializes in severe weather and training. Remote sensing is his forte - you might want to see a tornado before you die... but not just before you die! He has farmed, raised bees, written books and articles, lectured and instructed...
