Artist's Description

I was trying to muster the energy to paint. The October afternoon was more than beautiful. The morning chores had quite tuckered me out. However a musician friend of mine said on Twitter "go for it Phil. You know you'll enjoy it!"

So I headed out to the second marble point and painted looking across the pool at the exit of Jim Day Rapids. Fingers of cirrus stretched across the autumn sky while the fall colours spilled across the calm bay. The artistic energy still lit up the canvas and it was fun.

The goose with the hurt wing kept me company. We gave that goose a free run of the property all summer. The cat and the goose seemed to be friends as well. An eagle would dine on that goose on Monday October 24th. That's nature though and the cycle of life.

About Phil Chadwick

Phil Chadwick

I paint outside - nothing between my eyes and the inspiration. That special connectivity gets into the pigments and you quickly realize that we are all stewards of the land, privileged to appreciate its beauty during our lifetime but responsible for leaving the environment better off for the future and all inhabitants... Phil was born and raised along the St. Lawrence of Ontario, Canada and studied at Queens University as a nuclear physicist. A meteorologist for Environment Canada for 35 years, Phil specializes in severe weather and training. Remote sensing is his forte - you might want to see a tornado before you die... but not just before you die! He has farmed, raised bees, written books and articles, lectured and instructed...
